Keena's Weekly Updates

Good Morning and Happy Easter!

 

I am sending this to all you Timp Tri Clubbers as well as my athletes because I have had several of you ask for the details regarding the training camp being held this weekend.  I have attached an itinerary you can download and print up. 

 Here is a basic outline of the camp:

We will be meeting THIS FRIDAY, April 9th  at Sand Hollow Reservoir at FIVE (5) p.m. to do an OPEN water swim (approximately 60 minutes).  Then we will be driving to the corner of 1000 East (parking in the lot across from the Denny's restaurant) and doing a 60-90 minute run on the Ironman course  (plan on being done around 8:30 p.m.)

The next morning (this Saturday) we will be meeting at the Sand Hollow Reservoir again (just outside the entrance) at EIGHT (8) a.m. for a BIKE ride.  We will be riding the Sand Hollow to Veyo stretch and then do ONE loop of the Veyo loop (for a total of around 70 miles), ending at the Main Street/Tabernacle "transition" area that will be used for the race.  We will have someone at that site to watch all the bikes and then the group will RUN ONE (1) hour on the Ironman run course.  Plan on about 3.5-5 hours for the bike and then another hour for the run.  We will then meet back at the Sand Hollow Reservoir at 4 p.m. for ANOTHER 60 minute open water swim.  Gonna be a BIG day (for those of you NOT doing Ironman St. George...we will be modifying some of these distances)...

Finally....we will be meeting at the PASTA factory (I have reserved their banquet room) at 7 p.m. for our DINNER and review of the course, nutrition, etc.

So, LOTS of training and good things being accomplished in a very short amount of time for all you athletes!

I need to get an accurate count of who is planning on attending this camp so I can be prepared.  So, please go register now and then contact me if you need a training camp folder (if you have already attended camp, you should have one).  I also have a few people who would like to carpool...so, if you have room, please let me know!

Boot Camp:  5:30-6:30 a.m.  Keena's studio

 

TUESDAY:

Women on Weights:  9:30-10:30 a.m.  Keena's studio

Triathlon Class:   6-8 p.m.  AFFC.   BIKE and SWIM  (bring running gear as well)

 

WEDNESDAY:

Boot Camp:  5:30-6:30 a.m.  Keena's Studio

Tri Class:    9:30-10:30 a.m.  AFFC    SWIMMING

 

THURSDAY:

Women on Weights:   9:30-10:30 a.m.  Keena's Studio

 

SATURDAY:

Swim Class:   7-8 a.m.  AFFC  Long course swimming
